Media Fest 2019
Call for Proposals
Media Fest is a one-day event hosted by the Communication, Culture, & Technology (CCT) program in collaboration with departments, students, faculty, and staff across campus showcasing interactive and multimedia projects by Georgetown students. This event is student-organized and is a unique opportunity for creative individuals and organizations across the University to collaborate and share their work with the larger Georgetown and DC community. Media Fest 2019 will take place on Georgetown’s campus the afternoon/evening of April 12th, 2019.
You can submit your proposal here (GU login required). Keep in mind this is a proposal and does not need to be a completed project at this stage. You may submit more than one proposal; each proposal will be evaluated on an individual basis.
Through Media Fest you will have an opportunity to:
Gain visibility for your creative work
Work closely with a community of creatives and mentors from across the Georgetown campus, including an interdisciplinary group of faculty as well as graduate and undergraduate peers
Continue to develop your work and practice through a process focused as much on the journey as the outcome
Projects might include, but are not limited to:
Stations where attendees can learn/create
Sound and/or light installations
Artwork in any medium
Technology-based projects (robots, apps, etc.)
In general, we are looking for work that is mixed-media or otherwise experimental in the medium you are working within. We encourage you to move outside of your normal creative work and to explore the intersections between academics, technology, and/or art. Even if you are still formulating your idea, we encourage you to submit a proposal; the faculty review and critique process will help you to explore new directions and iterations of your work. You may also submit projects/proposals that were created for a class.
